Hand hewn dog trot cantilevered barn. Located in Greene Co. TN. The Pen Logs are mostly White Oak and have no rot on them. Several unique features include the following: 1. The two ridge beams in the hay loft are made from one solid 62' log (8"x10"x62' long) 2. Both Pens are 14'x14' appox and are sitting on base beam logs (10"x10"x42' long) and 16' apart 3. One of the pens was used as a stable and houses a 14' long dug out as a feed trough, very unique. 4.The pen logs are very wide faced (some are 18" face and 8" thick) 5.All the major structural connections are mortise and tenon connections with wooden dowels. 6. One of the pens was used as a corn crib on the first floor and has wide rough sawn 1" thick flooring. 7.Log corner connections are the German influence dovetail type 8.Marking and dismantlement services available at an additional cost. 9.This barn represents an era of craftsmanship that is almost lost today. 10. Estimated two tractor trailer loads of freight when dismantled.
